Heavy Vehicle Licence Types
Light Rigid (LR)
Light Rigid training for eligible rigid vehicles over 4.5 tonnes and up to 8 tonnes GVM
Ideal For:
A practical first step into heavy vehicle training
Vehicle Types:
Small trucks, service vehicles, tippers, vans, and eligible buses
Medium Rigid (MR)
Step up to larger rigid vehicles with two axles and a trailer
Ideal For:
Ideal for local deliveries and municipal work

Larger rigid trucks, small buses with trailers
Heavy Rigid (HR)
Drive the largest rigid trucks with three or more axles
Ideal For:
Opens doors to construction, waste, and heavy haulage

Heavy Combination (HC)
Operate prime movers with single semi-trailers and heavier towing combinations
